MC
Yes That's the one. I need to get some cartridges and was thinking of going to Mallard Barn, is it easier to go there on the way to yours, or on the way to lakenheath?
Suffolk shooter
Yes That's the one. I need to get some cartridges and was thinking of going to Mallard Barn, is it easier to go there on the way to yours, or on the way to lakenheath? Come to mine for about 9.00am and then we'll go straight over there before picking FG.22 up from his. Should be quicker, now we know where he lives this time. Failing that I am off work tomorrow and Friday, ring me and let me know what you want and I'll go and get some for you both if need be. Nice Eley Olympic Blues, none of that ***** rubbish you normally use SS
pin
What exactly constitutes a "*****" cart anyway?
MC
It is suffolk shooter's term for a quality cartridge, ie Express. Express is after all the only British cartridge to win a gold olympic medal, even though Eley call theirs Olympic trap. Ithink that is rhyming slang for something It is the same as he refers to my blaser as a ***** gun. The thing is up till now the ***** gun/cartridge combination has only been beaten once. alison391
Well up north '*****' is slang for the travelling people, how on earth one expects to shoot any clays with a travelling person one will never know? I much prefer more modern methods i.e a shot gun. I have recently purchased a beretta 682 gold (coss hwmbo has one and he carnt have owt bart me avin one anall) so will see how many i can miss with it, and 24g hull for me (well i am a lady after all). see you saturday ttfn alison391

pin
Very cold, very windy but great company, good banter and some good laughs. I am not going to mention the chip you never gave me, the holes in my pattern or the fact that I was crying like a baby for a cooked breakfast from about 1/2 way round - I am sure that will all be dragged up when the rest of you get on here Good to see you Ian & Allison, shame about the weather, much nicer place with the sun shining! simonp
Sorry I had to ****** off all, but good to catch up again. I was with a mate who I wanted to see the gun before I did the deed with mungler and he wanted to go sort out those jumping rabbits Then I got a call from the pregnant SO requesting the pleasure of my company, and so had to be off quickly. Thanks to Mungler tho, for letting me try out the Beretta and I'm now a very chuffed owner (deal was pretty much done after I dusted the first clay on first stand of the day !!!) :-D Si
MC
OK, Official scores of the sporting are as follows, All ex 114, we shot 6 birds on each of the 19 stands. martincavie 78 PIN 70 Ian (Mr Alison391) 71 Alison391 51 Stealthstalker 61 farmerguy22 63 My mate Nigel 46 suffolkshooter59 I must add that PIN did not chip the one he is claiming but as you can see from the scores it wouldn't make the slightest difference. However if you counted all the ones that "Went through a hole in my pattern" then really he carded 110 My mate Nigel shot incredibly well considering he has never shot clays before and he had a new gun that he had never shot. We also shot a round of skeet but the less said about that the better, I don't know what the scores are but if I managed 15 I will be suprised. I took longer arguing over the rules than it did to shoot the round.

We wont be so cruel to mention the chip we know it would hurt your feelings, It was nice to meet you all and put some faces to names, had a good day, next time we come down and shoot i think i will have an early night the night before instead of partying till 2 then maybe i will be able to see the clays and who knows even hit them. I think we will make it summer next time we come though as its not as much fun shooting in the rain and cold but despite the weather we enjoyed it, we finally got home about 7.45 absolutly nackered so off to our beds now, thanks again alison and ian. p.s next time the 'chips' are on pin!!!!! pin
Nigel shot extremely well, I couldn't believe that was his first go at real clays and with a new gun - well done that man! I never mentioned the chip after the first stand, it was you lot brining it up all the time
Stealth Stalker
Yeah nice to meet up again, shame about the weather I've just about thawed out! Pin if you were to put the thought of your belly & all those chips out the way I reckon you would have cleared up SS(Herts)
Mungler
I am waiting for Jamie's percentage analysis.... Sorry I didn't stop, had to shoot off to get back to Essex - it is was the coldest (wind chill factor included) I have felt all year and I didn't bring a proper coat. Simon, hope the gun serves you well.
Suffolk shooter
Mungler, If only there was a smilie with two fingers up, the screen would be full I needed to have a word with you, how's the letter going, only the keeper's getting anxious owing to the fact that the 14 days is up on 27th??? Alison & Ian, Good to meet you both, shame the weather was as bad as it was. It really did affect everybodies scores towards the end. I can honestly say that this was the first time I have ever shoot going away springing teal targets on the way back down where they are landing closer than when they were released. That's how strong the wind was Pin, I think you and I had the same holes in our pattern mate That last stand was a bit dodgy when I kept missing the overhead bird from behind and it kept coming down amongest you lot. Should have done that stand first then I could have nobbled the opposition. I know that yesterdays weather/temp had a lot to do with the scores yesterday, but I must admit to feeling rather depressed about my score when I got home and thought about it. A lot of the time, I just couldn't get the picture of any of the clays what so ever. That included the ones I hit as well. Look forward to the next meet (Probably the Essex Masters), hopefully the weather and temp will be better by then. Cheers to all who came. MC
Just for Mungler, Percentage analysis as follows martincavie 68.42% Pin 61.40% Ian 62.28% Alison 44.43% Stealthstalker 53.50% FG22 55.26% Nigel 40.35% Suffolk Shooter 51.75% Looks a lot worse like that, We haven't heard how the mighty Mungler faired though, is he keeping quiet for a reason? Mungler
I shot about 4 stands with StuartP using my Mossberg pump and think I gave a good account of myself. I shot the Blaser back at my local and have followed the Cavie principal of using a faster cartridge and skeet and 1/4 chokes and have been experiencing pleasing results. Before the Essex masters I intend a trip to Tibet to find inner peace and some more hommmm, be the clay. Louisvalentine has been finding form, not with the gun I sold him, but by borrowing my Blaser - so he is off shopping in the not too distant future - I should get some sort of commission from Essex Gun for the amount of Blasers I have sold and I think the least they can do is give me a 10 bird lead at the Masters. I shall be bringing this up with them on my next shopping trip.
MC
Mungler, I would definetly ask about the 10 bird lead at the masters, YOU ARE GOING TO NEED IT
Dunkield
I shot about 4 stands with StuartP Surely a case of mistaken identity, I could have sworn I was at home digging up the back garden yesterday
