spready
Whats the best product for doing a cold blue on a barrel ? there are so many out there just wanna make sure i get the right one. one of my air rifles blue is going abit thin so might have a go at doing a 'DIY' job on it ..cheers
deadeye18
I used one called perma blue a few times for a touch up jobs and it worked pretty well.think its made by birchwood casey.
Dead-Eyed Duck
Don't forget that cold blue is not hard wearing. It's OK for touching up, but if this is done in an area that is subject to wear then in a very short time you will be disappointed.
Les*1066
Birchwood Casey Perma Blue is OK, but I prefer Ballistol Klever. It seems to be a bit more resistant to wear than anything else I've tried, but as already has been said, none of them will give permanently lasting results . loriusgarrulus
I used the Birchwood Casey kit. Main thing is to put lots of coats on. Seems to give a nice finish. I cured mine in the bottom of the airing cupboard overnight after blueing and it went even better. This will not give as good a coating as hot blueing though. Fil
Perma blue is good. I use G96. Works the best for my use.
Gunman
Tried many but G96 is the one I come back to for those minor touch up jobs like pin heads but would not use any cold blue for other than these .
