Morningflight
A mate asked me to fit a safety kit purchased from York guns to his 525, I have fitted a kit before to a 424 with little problem but this kit (just a small lever cranked with a hole in it) does not appear to be the correct one for the 525. I phoned York guns and the guy says yes its correct ? Has anyone done this that can help please ? The 425 I used to have came with the kit and I fitted it in 20 minutes but this action inside looks different and cannot even see were it goes. JBS
Had my 525 made auto safe but it had to go back to browning to be done, if I remember correctly something had to be drilled out?? I think it also depends what year the gun is as some are different to others? Cost me £100 but it's what I prefer so worth it to me. Forgot to add mine is game version! matone
Sure Miroku stopped making them convertable at some point,to do with U S liability I believe.
Gunman
Some can be fitted with a kit from BWM others need to be modified .This entails cutting a slot in the top strap ,drilling a hole in the bolt and making a connecting rod , Not difficult IF you know what and were to cut and drill . It also entails relieving wood on the inside of the stock head for clearance for the new connecter rod Easy to make a mess if you get it wrong . HDAV
Buy a Nordic model or a game model should be fitted already Personally not a fan of auto safeties, gun can still go bang even with safety on if dropped etc
Gunman
With the Miroku/Brownings there is no connection between the trigger and the sears when the gun is on safe so if it did go off "when dropped" the it would not in a safe state to use any way . Its all down to personal choice .

Agree the sear would need to be very worn and dangerously so, but fact remains even with the safety on the pin can be struck by the hammer even if you don't touch the trigger.....
