krazykayaker
I know this is probably a really stupid question but as i`ve just purchased my first pcp rifle i was wondering if it might (big might!) to refill a pcp with a football stirrup pump?? i`m sure i`ll be told that a football pump wont produce enough pressure/wrong adaptors etc. But has anyone ever tried using one? Lord Geordie
Your Ball pump prob has a Max of 30PSI You need 3000PSI for a gun Really you need a Stirup pump OR pay about £125 for a Diving Cylinder and a further £55 for the guages and hose. The Pump (if filling a 400c to 500cc buddy bottle from empty) will near kill you if your not physically fit mind If just filling a Rifle like a s400 or a Falcon you should be fine. I started with the Pump and a Stealth and VERY quickly advanced to a Cylinder LG

blackthorn
the hole idea of a pump is not to fill the gun strate out, little and often, put some air in then walk away a few minutes later go back to it put some more in, then you wont get out of breath and ****** keeps ya fit

B*****s to the pump IMO, get a bottle!! much easier (small 3 litre ones are small enough to take out on the field if need be anyway!! I have a 3 litre one (300bar) and it lasts a while!!!! njc110381
If you get a bottle second hand, make sure it is "in test". They have to be checked every five years (I think it's five) to make sure they are still safe, so if you get one out of test and it fails, you've lost all your money because it has to be scrapped! Something to think about if you're buying from ebay or a magazine ad etc

SNAKEBITE
Repumping to a full charge after a hunting session is far easier than filling from "empty". Takes 2 minutes maximum. You lot are a real lazy bunch of so and so's aren't you?
young airgunner
i have a pump and it is no where near as hard work as alot of people make out. i find it fine for filling my s400 and is not a problem. if i had to buy one or the other, i probably would buy the bottle but as my pump came with the rifle im not fussed. cheers james

You lot are a real lazy bunch of so and so's aren't you? I agree with Snakebite you lot are a lazy bunch. I fill my Logun S16s up with a pump and it takes about 15mins from empty with a little break inbetween helps me keep fit so as I can carry the rifle around on shoots (Not one of the lightest of rifles :o ) Get a pump you know it makes sence
