SGC Interview Advice

Before the interview he advised that my safe would need to be covered from view (i.e. in a wardrobe or hidden behind something)? which I sought advice on from BASC. He also told me not to let anyone see me putting a gun in the car boot and he advised doing that in the dark..... also told me to not put anything on facebook etc. Mixture of good and bad advice.

As others have said; be yourself, dont tell him more than he asks for and make the poor bloke a brew.

That is ridiculous advice. After all unless your nearest neighbour is a mile away, chances are in overcrowded urban Uk someone will see you put something in the boot of your car. About social media, it is also ridiculous. How are you supposed to promote shooting and get other people to take it up?

I have found most FEOs to be friendly and helpfull

At my Last SGC renewal said He wasn't going to bother with a visit but The Chief Constable made it mandatory .

I had just finished a week on armed guard and his attitude was that if the queen trusted me with a full auto then he can't really refuse me an SGC.

Do they I have spoken to people just flat out turned down without any interview

I was told my FEO that even if they have no chance of getting one he still has to attend which I asked him was surely a waste of time and resources. He said I just follow orders but did agree his time could be better well spent

It is your right to own a shotgun! they have to have solid grounds not to grant you one ( they have to have a reason)

FAC It is not your right to own one but you have to prove why you need one!

It is my understanding that they interview everybody. My first application ended in a refusal due to a caution as a teenager

The second application was ok because I had started working for a RFD and their grounds for refusal were no longer water tight.

Both occasions I had interviews.

No previous means you should be ok unless you live with somebody who gets in trouble allot.

Dont take no manure off em,,,, just tell em you want one and make it quick

While your having your interview apparently its best if imagine they are in the nude, its supposed to make you more relaxed, it can back fire though as it did me. I was getting a twitch  , my FEO was a nice buxom bit of Totty
