roostshooter1
Hi guys im looking at buying a 10 bore side by side but most i find are choked 3/4 and full so would i be alright firing steel loads through this gun or would i have to have the chokes taken out slightly
fenboy
The normal advice is to have them bored out to 1/2 not a expensive job
AberFowl
As above, but I have fired a good few hundred steel loads through my Basque now, it has 3/4 and full choke. No damage as yet to the gun. I have thought about opening the full choke to half as the lesser choked barrel patterns better at the average range I shoot
roostshooter1
Okay guys ive always heard people say you need no more than half but my o/u 12 bore is 3/4 and 1/2 and never had any problems with steels through it ive had someone offer to load 42 gr 3.5 inch bismuth for the 10 for 3.20 a round is this a good price do you think

ayano3
I know of a zabala 10 for sale already bored less than half choke. Comes with a few cartridges and a few more bits. It's single trigger and £

That may also be why so many people buy tight aftermarket chokes.
