ashcmt
at about 9pm this evening, a neighbour over the back, whom over the years has developed an interest in fireworks, set of what sounded like a full box of mortar bombs. they were big, they were loud abnd boy were they impressive. what ceases to amaze me, is what the ******* hell is going through his mind. Bear in mind i live on a 15yr old estate of houses, that are pretty close together. These bombs were seriously loud, easily as loud as hearing a shotgun go off at 15 yards. which puts them in atleast a haz 4 category i believe after a brief read of the fireworks regulations. Yes house alarms, car alarms, windows, doors and dogs shook at them going off. so this guy has stored explosives in his house, let them off in the street, and put the risk of everyones lives around him, inlcuding his voluntarily at risk. So tomoro, i'm sure he'll think it will be fine if i go out into the street, together with my shotgun, and take potshots in the sky. somehow i think not, and as i am a responsible and sensible shotgun certifcate holder, i will obivously not be doing so. It furiates me that i go through all the rigmarole with liasing with the police, to safely and legally hold and use my gun, yet he just flouts the law completely and does as he wishes. It really really really makes me mad. I am all with setting some fireworks from asda off at christmas bonfire night and new year. dont get me wrong i have no problem at all with that. but on a regular saturday, for no apparent reason? I think not! Rant over guys, i hope you understand. I rang the non emergency police crime number, and they have politely agreed, and will make all relevant steps to investigate. Lets hope that they do so, for safetys sake. the fireworks regulations are available on the DTI website, an interesting read. Cranfield
I might have reported hearing explosions and gunshots, that would have got some reaction from the Police.
ashcmt
believe me ther were had been no better sight than to see an armed unit turn up and turn him over. i'm to honest lol but after readign stories of lads people lamping and stuff, being chased down by armed police, this guy sets off explosives, i hope he really gets in deep **** because its so offensive to the laws abiders amongst us. Mungler
It was better when fireworks were on restricted sale and limited to the build up to November. Torch his shed and stand well back.

Hunter
Gotta say, im a firework lover too Some Roman Candle fireworks, fire a small charge about 15ft-20ft high, and then explode producing a report about as loud as a small shotgun. Very safe, (if you stand back) and they will set car alarms off. No offence, but I wouldnt get wound up over it, its just some chappy having a bit of Constructive destructive fun Why go and talk to him in person? see if you can sort something out in a friendly way, rather then get the police. Always a good idea to be firendly with neighbours, never know when they may help you.

That's sound legal advice from where I'm sitting, you wouldn't want to have to go through that awful process of sueing him for personal injury if his flaming shed were to hurt you in any way
bobt
You should contact the local Environmental Health dept, at the Cooncil, its a noise nuisance.
ashcmt
i agree i am all for live and let live and all that. me and father went round last year sometime, bear in mind where i live, and were threatened with physical violence lol as we walked off he rugby tackled my dad from behind, so i blacked his eye for him.(my dads small but mouthy lol) we used to be friendly with everyone who lived around us, then as time moves on, they all moved out and new moved in. and after trying, never really got friendly with them. i'm not a grass and not one for running to the police, dont get me wrong, i love a lound bang and all that, but there are regulations saying one you have to have a licence to use them things out of the normal times of the year, and two it is an offence to let anything of the sort like that off in the street. wouldnt mind the woman who lives next to him, had the environmental health send us a letter saying we were a noise nuisance, all cos my little brother and sister used to use the trampoline at about 10pm in the summer lol wouldnt mind the house backs onto her garden, we've got a large garden, with a barrier of small trees, her house is atleast 30 yards away!!! then he sets them off, bit out of order really, hope shes rang the council about him aswell. bloody neighbours. its not a council estate or anything lol, mines a 250k detached 5 bedroom house lol, and the guy opposite us tries to hang himself off the his balcony every now and again. whats the world coming to??
