wymberley
Got called to a very wealthy area a few miles away - big houses and big grounds - to see if I could sort out the rabbit and squirrel. Seems the guy had had a go but failed on both species. He'd been trying to trap the squirrels so I gave him a few pointers - the main one being don't use salted peanuts! - and he's going to go again. My smallest gun is the LR and for various reasons it is a no no (yep, FAC open) and said with that bedroom balcony as a 'high seat' a non FAC air rifle will do the job nicely. I bought one says he, but I can't get the sight right. If you like says I, I'll take it away and see if I can sort it out (took me 2 hours as the optic adjustments were all over the place but I'm now confident it can be zeroed). Thank you, I'll get it but comes back down from upstairs to say he can't find it - it was in the wardrobe and the scope in the drawers. Wife goes up and immediately returns with rifle and scope attached! Break barrel which I opened but found no resistance. I'm going to have to take this outside (never seen the make before) as there's something not right. Found the safety catch and fired into the lawn. Yep, say no more - his face was a picture - bet he doesn't make that mistake again. When I take it back zeroed I think a short lesson on safety will be in order.
