just testing the water ??

my mate has a very clean 2002 l200 warrior

that up until last month was his pride and joy its a black double cab with rear lockable and alarmed cover .

December last year it had FULL timing belt kit inc bottom pulley and service AT A COST OF OVER £600

its mot,d till oct this year all good tyres recent full exhaust

now the bad bit last week it developed a knock which sounds like a diesel knock and his local garage has provisionally diagnosed as possible 2 injectors gone faulty

he.s gutted to be getting rid but he don't want to spend any more money on it

he,s after £1925 O.V.N.O

if interested pm me and I,ll pass his number on

Do you reckon if he thought it was injectors it would be up for sale. With this one any buyer would be best banking on it needing at least a bottom end. Still it's a tidy truck for someone who is prepared for the work Edited by al4x

It wasn't meant badly just I have heard more than once of injectors being blamed and it ending up being more major. I think one was zapp on here, as an outsider it just doesn't look good selling with a fault that if it is will be fairly cheap to rectify.

we picked up the injectors off blackbart today and hopefully his local garage right and once fitted it will sort it . he does not really want to sell it but just having spent a considerable amount of money on it in the last few month he has reached the point where he is going to call it a day on it ......................unless the injectors off blackbart fix it then he,ll probably keep it

I'm sure I've met the owner of this in the past on a farm I shoot on .came across as a genuine fella to me so maybe it is jst the injectors.

he,s called mick and is as honest a man as you,ll ever meet

Hope he has good luck with the sale I am in a similar position with my l200 it's time to move on

yeah mate ive had vehicles myself that I have enjoyed owning but then something silly happens and you think " that's it time to move on " and try something else which has unfortunately then turned out to be a mistake

I think what Alex is saying is you would have to bear in mind that worse case scenario is the bottom end may have gone, but there is lots of other things that could make it knock from bad fuel all the way up to bottom end failure.

I have not seen or heard it but there is lot,s of things to check before condeming the engine.

Hopefully the injectors will sort it
