Passionforangling
I'm getting a new labrador pup in two weeks. The breeder adds Dorwest Keepers Mix to her adult dogs foods and I have to say they have the most stunning coats. The base food she uses is Skinners which I will start the pup with I think, at least for the first few weeks. Has anyone else used the Dorwest additive? Or any other additives that you would swear by?
fenboy
I feed mine on skinners , the only extras he gets is the occasional egg, a tin of sardines in oil and now again a couple of raw carrots. His coat is fine, truth is if they have a decent food they should not need any additives , mine gets what he does to add a little variety now and again. paulus
if the dog is getting a balanced healthy diet then there should be no need for extra vitamins, unless it has a medical condition. a piece of lard now and again in its food or an evening primrose tablet a day, combined with regular grooming will give its coat sheen
loriusgarrulus
I buy gallon containers of cod liver oil from the farm supply and give them all a dose twice a week.
lurchers
Even good foods hit different dogs in different ways, what 1 dog looks brilliant on it might make the other dog loose weight and not in good condition.if you have a good diet and the dog looks good on it don't change it.thats what I've found over the years and all of ours get the same and it's easier for us.atb
