arjimlad
Nice to see the 302 getting the use she was made for, Caplock ! I don't think it had 3,000 shells through it in the last 20 years. Looks perfect for your lass too. Thanks for posting that.
bobt
Locally most of the lads have an escort in the cabinet for clays and geese/pigeon, I only know of one failure, and that was the owner being a bit rough when stripping it.
caplock
Cheers Arjim, I don't think the 302 has ever cooled down since we got it! Not only has it been pressed into service every weekend for a minimum of 250 shots it is also grabbed over anything else in the cabinet whenever I head out for a bit of crow/ pigeon shooting during the week. 28 to 36 grams of alsorts, boresnake and wipe down after shooting and a thorough clean every 600 or so, very reliable piece, not one jam so far. Highly recommended to anyone if you can find a well looked after example as this was. Cheers
derek.snr
love my 391 if you can pick one up cheap enough get it.got a franchi raptor as well ,never had problems with either ,just keep em clean.have noticed with the raptor you have got to give the cartridges a solid push in when loading other wise they spring back ,new gun so will ease with use no doubt.quite happy for you to try them ,if you have somewhere to shoot ,only live end of m58
auto culto
I've got a remington spr 453 that will eat anything you put down it from 2 3/4 to 3 /12. Its had thousands of rounds through it and never jammed once. Its basically a Baikal semi, it ain't that pretty but boy is it dependable and it suits me great. I would recommend this gun to anyone as its been faultless for me.

jon0881
There is a registered firearms dealer at my rifle club who gave me a really good price on a new Escort so i have gone for one of them, 12g 28" standard synthetic black. Im going to order those beretta mobil chokes of that guy on ebay, other than geordie has anyone done it? I also need to buy a load of cartridges at the moment i am looking at 600 28g 7.5's for the clays and 400 30g 6.5's (felt) for pigeon. Having read enough about the escort, what make cartridges in the mentioned spec work well with minimal jams? Cheers Jon

Price was £266 but for club members only. 20g was £272 Oh the carts will probably be 70mm too to make sure they work with the o/u

jon0881
true. This one is for rough shooting and a few clays. I dont fancy buying another thing i have to worry about marking. As long as i click and it goes bang, it will do for me. Plus it was under my budget!

Im hoping to get some permission somewhere local soon. Without wanting to sound too cheeky would i be able to tag along for a walk arround with you some time? (just watching) I have family distant family who own a couple of thousand acres near three sisters track sho will soon get a surprise visit Im booked onto a pigeon shoot on the 30th in Winwick so i'll let you know how it goes. Gonna Shoot a Wabbit
If funds allow splash out on beretta 391. Had mine for 3yrs used on clays, pigeon, duck and foxes and no problems at all with 28 - 46g cartridges. A friend had one of the older 303's thats just as reliable if funds will not stretch to a 391.
