monkeyjaimz
Now then guys, was looking at a post in the Airgunners section of the forum about wether squirrells are edible / worth eating etc. So thought it might be interesting to some of the guys who were discussing it to see the meat yield of a squizza and maybe compare it that of a rabbit. As it happens I had one of each in the fridge and as I used to be a chef, looking at what yield I can get from an animal and trying out differant things etc is always interesting to me. Cyber
very good, they look almost similar I think I would definately try it. I am always willing to try somethin new (If you don't like it, don't have it again imo!!!)
Evil Elvis
Question is.....what did it taste like?
monkeyjaimz
Question is.....what did it taste like? If it's just pan-fried with a bit of salt n pepper then IMO it's in the realm of 'gamey chicken'. Im always experimenting though, and being a devoted bourbon drinker I tried flaming it in a little of that last night before sticking it in the slow cooker with a good stew mix etc, I'll let you know what the results are like! rowland75
Thanks for the info as id never thought a squirrel to be that meaty. The rabbit looks youngish though compared to a big squirrel. A similar size but the suirrel legs are big. How would a large rabbit and large squirrel compare? Cheers Pete
pin
Large rabbit compared to large squizzer, about 4x the size i'd say.
