bruno22rf
If its anything like the Mercury (and I think the stocks are pretty much the same size) then you will most likely need a set of reach forward mounts but with the forward mount turned around and placed nearest your eye-this is the best way to get the correct eye relief-from memory Ronnie Sunshine is the cheapest source-go via Ebay cos postage is/was free. lineshooter
Have a look here http://www.sportsmatch-uk.com/air-rifle-rimfire-rifle-1inch-medium-range The OP12C is the mount recommended for BSA`s with the sloping back block, as for a scope anything gloss black from that era, Tasco Silver Antler, Nikko as mentioned, Simmons etc.

Alycidon
Optima were well regarded in their time thanks I suspect to heavy advertising. Tasco and Kassner Fox were seen as the next step up. Spring piston air rifles are very hard on scopes due to their recoil characteristics, Theoben always used Simmons with very very complaints and they had some pretty powerfull rifles in their day, thats what I would fit.
