discobob
I have just had a Combe raiser fitter on my 682 gold e and feel that is should put some top up oil on the stock. I do have some tru oil that I purchased however on looking at the vids on the web it looks like it would make my stock look too shiny for me - so - over to you esteemed gents for your advice. I do like a Matt finish.
Gunman
Any one of the dozen or so that are readily available . They all work if you follow the instructions . Gently does it and remember it is not a one coat solution .Little and often .
guinty1
I bought some tru oil to use on my stock, thought i would try it first on a knife handle. Glad i did the knife handle ended up having a shiny finish, so didnt use it on my gun.

Rst1990
Tru oil can be used to obtain a non gloss finish, just use some #0000 wire wool afterwards and it tones it right down. the 682 gold e's that I have seen have all had a factory varnish on them non gloss. So if yours is the same a rubbing in oil won't do anything as the oil won't absorb into the factory finish. Hope this helps Atb
discobob
Thanks for all the responses - have handed it to a guy from the local club who does a lot of people's guns- will be getting it back in a few days. He identified the stock as being oiled and will be maintaining the same finish. Cheers Steve
