Gun Watch
Fias Sidelock £250 12 gauge Shotgun Trade Seller Used - Average Condition Harpenden, Hertfordshire Over and Under, 1/4 Choke, 3/4 Choke, 26" barrels Description A quality over and under built in 1974 by FIAS in Italy for the uk and marketed by Gower ltd. This gun is not to be confused with the normal boxlocks at around this price. A feature is the fine relief scrolled engraving to the action. The barrels are 26" under a 7mm rib, with a 14.5 lop pistol grip. FIAS built the Medalist for Browning, a single trigger entry level gun; this is the quality version at an affordable price. The gun is priced at £250.00 ( due to a slight repair to the forend, which could be improved.) A bargain! The seller of this gun doesn't appear to be a Pigeon Watch member, to contact them please use the details on Gun Watch. TDS
I think you will find this is a sideplated boxlock not a sidelock
bruno22rf
Cannot see any relation to a Medalist-the locking mech. is totally different and the Browning never came with 2 triggers afaik-FIAS did not make all Medalists-early ones were produced by Zabala Just saying and for info only-no offence intended. Scully
Rizzini also made the medalists for browning !!!! There have been numerous posts regarding 'Browning' Medalists since we last discussed the gun on this forum, and I have been reluctant to become involved in discussions regarding the gun ever since lest I'm branded a troll or otherwise, but the fact remains that the Medalist is not a Browning. I only make this point because I'm reluctant to see anyone buy a Medalist thinking they are buying a Browning; they're not. It never has been a Browning and no gun manufacturer has ever made a Medalist for Browning. The Medalist has been made by several manufacturers but was made by FIAS for Brownings importers, and NOT for Browning. Sorry.
