evo
went out last week to have a mooch round an old perm and to get a rabbit for a friend , which I kindly supplied, anyway I was watching a certain field to see what the bunnies where up to , there was plenty about, here is a pic of the field I decided to setup on the hedgeline around 40yrds from where I had seen the rabbits a few days earlier which had been scratching the land so I got down into position and lay under an oak tree, one hour passed and nothing happened so I decided to give it 30 more mins and packup if nothing happened, I was only after one rabbit for an elderly gentleman I know who asked me for one for him to put into a nice pan with a load of veg, this was my new daystate air rangers first trip out hunting and I wanted to see just what it could do, I had zero,d it to 45yrds because I knew what sort of distances I would be shooting, the air was totally still with no wind at all, all of a sudden out popped the rabbit, it was approx. 50yrds away , I waited and waited and watched it through the scope for what seemed ages then it decided to turn and start hopping towards me, it stopped again, crosshairs on it on x 9 and I slowly pulled the trigger, it dropped on the spot, killed instantly with a shot to the brain, I walked out and it was 52 paces away, the pellet had hit the rabbit perfectly between the eye and ear so an instant kill, see pic so just over an hour lying in wet grass to get a rabbit for a good old friend and to top it off the last week playing with the air ranger to find the right pellets out to 55yrds certainly was worth it, just goes to show if you put the hours in you will reap the rewards thanks for reading atb Evo

Elk hunter
Good shot, but laying in wet grass for an hour....I'd have gone to the butchers and bought one. Hats off to you for your patience, I couldn't sit still that long. Andrew
pigeon controller
Brilliant report, I was out with you , great report and result. I bought a R10 with pulsar night vision to sort the rabbits out at a local stable yard and have not been out . I purchased a large carp unhooking mat to lie on . Your report has spurned me on to get out again. Again well done, good job.

evo
Cracking stuff Evo Rifle looks good and obviously works well yes bud I,m really pleased with how its performing, its shooting very accurate to 50yrds using AA diablo fields 4.52 and better still with the jsb 4.53,s . it wont perform with the jsb 4.52 and the power also drops by nearly a 1/2ftlb when I use them, I totally stripped the rifle down and cleaned every moving part, put the tiniest smear of grease on the bolt and that's it, it is shooting really smooth now and the accuracy has improved tenfold, certainly worth the time and effort to do the strip down, I,ve spent 3 days now firing pellet after pellet to find the best one and I think I,ve found it now, at 45yrds its putting 10 pellets in a 1p size circle and all grouped together, when I took all the camo off I couldn,t believe how mint it was underneath , so it looks like the camo had protected it,,,,lucky me lol thanks for the replies chaps atb Evo

Mine shoots very well with the AA 4.52's as well, so will be interesting to see if there is an improvement with the JSB's The FAC Airwolf is really good on Bis Mags. I think they are 5.50. Folklore has it that, Barracuda match are the same pellet, but sorted head sizes and weights. True or not I don't know, but have bought some of those in 5.52 to see if there is an improvement. evo
Isn't that the rabbit from your pub? Has a bit of a beer belly it certainly was a big bunny,, went out last night on the golf coarse and seen a rabbit what looked like it was 70/80 yrds away, so I walked up as slowly as I could, checked again through the nightvision and it still looked bloody miles away but it was clear as daylight through the nightvision which meant it had to be under 60yrds but it was so small on the screen my mind kept telling me it was further, anyway I slowly walked up towards it putting some trees between us and counted another 20 paces, surely its well within range now I thought, so I lay on my stomach put the gun down on the bipod and switched the nightvision back on, crickey that's still 50+ yrds away I thought so I flicked the safety off, and gave it a 1/4 milldot holdover and squeezed the trigger ,,,,,,,,,,,,,well blow me the pellet went flying over its head " whats going on " I thought, I quickly reloaded and it had moved about 5 yrds to the left I put the crosshairs on it and pulled the trigger ,,,,,what a shot I thought ,,,the bunny did a somersault and droped stone dead, how pleased was I,,, I left the gun and walked to where I thought the rabbit was,,45 paces away, flicked on the torch for a search and guess what ,,,,Nothing,,,,, so decided to walk back to the rifle, on my way back there it was on the floor,,,i have never laughed so much in my life,, here is me thinking it was bloody miles away because of how big it looked on my screen when infact it was 22yrds away from me,,,,, it was the smallest rabbit I have ever shot in my life,,,when Roger "golfshot" came over, he also went into a fit of laughter when I explained I thought it was futher than it was due to the size of it on the screen, I told him I thought it was 50yrds away but was infact 22yrds away but due to its bloody size being so small it looked further than what it was, we howled laughing together,,roger had me in tears when he said "" Christ bob its too small to fit on a batch/bun  anyway here is a pic of the star of the show, shot with the Air ranger .177 at 22yrds  come on boys ,,,,no laughing please ,,
