rjimmer
Aren't you missing the point? The GL circumvents the EU so in effect the former over-rides the latter. Pigeons had to be put on General License in the UK because the EU put them on the protected list, due to some populations being threatened. I was in France for a week 4 years ago and I only saw pigeons, 2 of them, when we visited a town.
wymberley
Not only is he missing the point it seems he is also missing some good shooting As our numbers have plummeted in my immediate area, I think I'll nip up the A30/35 for half an hour come the harvest - sounds as though there might be some shooting going begging. Can't be bothered any more, I'm off to shoot a few pigeons.

Andra
Deary me!!! For me grassland farm = woodpigeon, corvids, grey squirell, rabbit, fox all of which may be doing varying levels of damage. Usually smallish numbers but I guess it depends on your area and what adjoins the land you shoot on, time of year etc etc. Have also read a few items online where folks shooting woodpigeon on strong established flightlines over grassland / woods where they may be travelling to easier pickings. Good places for learning/further improving ones fieldcraft in my opinion. Hope this helps Phil. Edited March 20, 2015 by Andra
