Gonna Shoot a Wabbit
hi all. am thinking of trading in my hard working cz carbine for one of the anschutz 14 thumbhole stock carbines. Does anyone out there have one? Are they as good as their blurb suggests?? My cz can hold 1/2 inch group at 30yds(off a bipod) as long as i do my bit. does anyone have a comparison?? especially with the sako finfire?? Many thanks!! Gonna Shoot a Wabbit
Hi Graham, thanks for replying regarding the sako. i have seen the tiny groups that sako's can produce two of my shooting mates have got them also and they are very impressive. Any idea if sako do a thumbhole stock rifle in their range. Am a new member on pigeonwatch and still feeling my way around so any advice much appreciated. Cheers! If you want a "Thumbhole" stock then look at the Anschutz XIV. This comes with a 14inch barrel and is ideal for fitting a moderator, and being an Anschutz it will automatically be very accurate with the best out-of-the-box trigger you will find on any rimfire. Gonna Shoot a Wabbit
G.M. Thanks was what i hoped to hear. Trigger on my c.z. is dreadful compared to the sako. The anschutz XIV sounds ideal. i can do 1/2inch groups at 300 yards with my .17hmr and i thought that was **** WOW!!!! now that i would like to see. great to hear from you
Oly
You will get SIGNIFCANTLY better with the anschutz. I have a 64MPR and I regularly get better than 1/2in groups at 100yrds off a bipod - but that is a competition grade barrel and action From what I have heard/seen your shouldn't be too far off that with the thumbhole. jcbruno
in the UK are you allowed to have only one 22 because i would just keep the CZ and get a anchutz
Gonna Shoot a Wabbit
I only have one bolt action .22 rifle on my licence, not sure if the police would object to me having two bolt action rifles perhaps one of the other members may know??? what sort of restrictions apply on the other side of the pond? what kind of shooting do you enjoy over there?
