Alycidon
I was moving a Larsen early this morning, a wire mesh one, the top is hinged and held closed by cable ties. Anyway this morning 2 cable ties snapped, this allowed a gap in the top of the trap between roof and sides of about 70mm, it took the decoy under 2 seconds to escape !!. Looks like the sun has weakened the ties causing them to fail, suggest you all check your traps and replace all cable ties. A

TaxiDriver
Could you perhaps use a hose type jubilee clip ? If you undo it enough you can pull the end out and thread it through and back into the hose clip and tighten up as required ? Makes for a more secure connection that can take years to be affected by the elements And more resistant to the casual vandal.
matone
Better using hogrings from a farm supply depot.

prem1234
If you do use cable ties the black ones will last much longer than the white ones as the white ones are really for internal use and will become brittle as they weather.
