i have several books inc the shotgun reloader manual

where do i go for clear and presise information that is not going to cause me wet underwear

as i collect all the hulls from the local clay range for reloading purposes i need three case recipes as i can have one of three types of cases to use

also been looking on a forum someone there has mentioned the cases can be cut long ways in half and sean to confirm the case style and there for the reloading data. where is the information of cross sectional hull pictures or info please

Ideally you would decide what you want to reload and load a set based around that and send them to the proof house to be sure you are getting performance and safety. You get 4 lots of 5 cartridges tested for £35+vat. Have a couple of grains variation between each lot to get a good idea of what's happening. If you're feeling confident you can just test 4 separate recipes as long as they are all the same gauge.

The claygame data is useful but most recipes lack complete data and pressures and some have been shown to be well over proof. I think when it was published they just got any old data floating around and reproduced it as gospel.

You will be lucky to find an shells now that are anything other than parallel tube type as seen on the left with a separate base wad and most European data is based on these.

I have the data sheets for ITX from C&G but would suggest you look to Ballistic products for advice as I feel you will get a better shell.

You do not need massive amounts of ITX but would be better having it at a speed of around 1450 - 1500 fps. This is achievable in the 10g with a 42g load.

Go onto Ballistic products website and look at loads of the week archives and check out the "Ripping Fast ITX"

Krowe79, I think its a miss-print it should be a cork or felt packer inside the shot cup, I dont use that load but I do use CSBO and Multi metal or TPS wads with steel shot and 44 grains, I pack the inside to give a good crimp as long as the shot is just above the wad and set back will push it back into the wad.

Not a gas seal especially 12g as this will not go inside a 10g wad.
