babs2020
hi guys how long before you can get your ticket opened and is there anything that can help you get it opened
Luckyshot
Every force is different mine was opened up after 8 months for RF and cf. Just put a request into your force and see what they say.

thepasty
After a year I sent in for my first variation, my cert came back opened due to amount of shooting I'd done (ammunition bought as proof).
ShootingEgg
Had this conversation with my FAD (avon and somerset) today. They have said normally it is first renewal, unless you can prove you have more experience, this could be ammo count, how much you get out to shoot etc. Always worth asking though. superspark
I wouldn't email them mate, far better to give them a call and just inquire over the phone. I rang my local firearms department and asked the question. They said just send in my licence, letter explaining what i would like to have and two character witnesses who have witnessed me shooting safely. 5 days later mine came back "open". Good on you Devon and Cornwall constabulary
thepasty
it was D&C that opened mine without asking too
trickhannah
my fac was granted open in scotland why is it granted closed in england
superspark
You would of thought if it was granted open in Scotland it would be in England and Wales unfortunately different force's from different areas don't all do the same. I suppose its one of life's little mysteries and would just have to speak with the relevant force and have the land you want to shoot over added to your file and inspected if not already cleared for the calibre you wish to use, best of luck
