hambone
I get ricochets with the 20 grain Winchester hollow points, not as often as with the .22 rimfire but it sounds a lot worse
Dekers
If you actually hit your intended quarry you will minimise/remove the risk of ricochet altogether, or reduce it considerably. Edited May 6, 2015 by Dekers

LeadWasp
Last July I was out at dusk shooting round the fringes of a crop. It had been very dry and that hard surface had formed. Two consecutive shots at rabbits (70-80yds off the roof) both had ricochets after going through the rabbit. The first went whining off into the night (no houses for miles) and the second a shorter flight into the large bale backstop. Looking back at the carcass pics on my phone one impact had fragmented quite well in the rabbit judging by the mess and the second had pretty much gone straight through the other bunny. So it was interesting to see how well even fragments fly!
Milo
FMJ military rounds will have a greater tendency to ricochet than expanding or frangible sporting ammunition so don't get too concerned if you are comparing the two.
Paddy Galore!
never had a bounce from my hmr as yet, had one with the 6.5 though, it was a long held breath while listening to it whine through the air and hit the ground somewhere
