double10
Saw these a while ago, I don't know if this has been posted before. I read that one of the ideas behind the ports is to create a lubricating layer between the bullet and the barrel to increase velocity...because that would be so helpful... http://www.guns.com/2011/12/20/the-comp-bullet-the-bullet-that-comps/
hyflier
The .22 rimfire bullet has a lubricant, but they ain't drilled holes in that round for over 100 years I can't see this improving accuracy or performance for that matter, have couple of diamonds fitted and hang 'em round your neck
loriusgarrulus
Do they make them in silver as well. You could hang it round your neck as a piece of jewellery and have emergency ammo for werewolves unless the zombies get you first.
WelshMike
I would opt for gimmick
Savhmr
Gimmick as the holes would increase drag in flight and possibly decrease peak pressure/velocity in the barrel as the insinuation of a lubricating layer is that it requires a small gap between bullet and rifling! From that perspective and reduced weight, I'd guess reduced recoil is the only likely benefit.
