smudgey
ive got a few hours tomorow afternoon and on my permission there are alot of rooks and a few pigeons feeding on some freshly cut grass fields, i would like to know if its worth mixing both types of decoys and how? i am sure some of u guys or girls would have a good idea as iv never tried this method and could be waisting my time, but looking forward to be out and about with the gun. bluesj
If you are after rook then set up you decoys, you can then put out 5 or 6 pigeon decoys to one side a bit away from the others. Ive had some success doing this on days, but would only do it if things are slow. If you are after pigeon then again set your decoys as you normally would and if you get a rook leave it upside down away from the pigeon decoys, this has also worked for me. ShootingEgg
Id say put a set of pigeon decoys in a pattern then a group of crow say 15 yrds away, dont mix and match a big pattern as this doesn't happen in real life. best day ive had doing this was 100 birds, 75 crow 25 pigeon Edited June 5, 2015 by ShootingEgg
