flash
after doing a morning of buscraft at college, i realised how ****e the knives i buy really are, none of them really hold there edge, and there all folders, since then ive been looking at some knives on the net, specifically the brusletto range, are these any good, do they hold there edge, and are they worth the money. heres the one im looking at, i know there pricey but i want a knife that is up to the job. brusletto cheers flash
pin
Have a look at http://forums.egullet.org/index.php?showtopic=26036 For a knife to hold its edge it needs to be a good carbon steel blade - the ones you mention are very good from what I understand. Have a look here its a chart of the different steels uses and how hard they are.
faff
they are not that pricey really iv paid £250 for a knife in the past. they look ok and I have been told the troll is a good knife. Like anything it depends on what you want the knife for. if its just hunting and skinning then you don't need an all-round style knife like I would use in bushcraft. I think they are a little big for skinning but still do the job they are a jack of all trades. check this knife forum out http://www.britishblades.com/forums/

Oly
Had a look on your initial link Flash and I'm impressed at the value you can buy such high carbon content knives for. Does anyone else know of other knives of a similar price with a higher carbon content? What's the best price to carbon ratio out there?? Lost Magpie
I bought a falcon knife i stumbled acroos off E-Bay about a year back whilst looking at falconry gear. The picture was really poor but i could tell it was a decent knife, ended up getting it for £7.00, priced it and it's worth about £70.
