red_stag88
I spied these on ebay.... http://images.andale.com/f2/123/121/628003...4_box_24_S_.jpg Have you ever seen any such flies? They are very realisitic, if not just a bit over dressed.
Teal
They appear highly realistic but I would not expect them to be very durable, they'll probably fall apart after you catch a fish, maybe before! You don't need to be high tech to catch trout, I still find the damsel is one of the best flies i have ever used, keep it simple!!
red_stag88
I know, that was my point. As someone so rightly said "Hmmm, I'll just tie on a drab little thing,"
JONO
Stag -some folk take "realism" to extremes. These flies will disintegrate after the first fish. Better to tie something a tad more "impressionistic" like a Sawyer pheasant tail, Walker mayfly nymph or Gold Ribbed Hares Ear. Flashback Frazer Nymphs are proably the closest thing to these beautiful obsessions.
Cakie174
Some serious detail there. There is not much on them to present movement whilst in a swim.
Cranfield
A lot of these "flies" are made to sit in presentation and display boxes. Where they look very nice indeed. You have to admire the ability of the person who made them.
deadeyedick
one has to remember that these sort of flies are intended to catch the angler, not the fish!
