no, there the same as what they were when i got it,

 

a little digging about and the one on ebay looks the same, more on one side than the other, but then some others iv just seen all look to close better :hmm::hmm:

just on the By"................on the seris 3 where the rad is ...shud there be a packing strip made out of layers of canvas or strapping ...??

underneath where its bolted on the chassis? that rings a bell, think there there :good:

well just been back in the garage to sort out my bent bonnet hinge, now, how does that saying go again....." well thats ****** that" :lol::lol::lol:

put it in the vise and attacked it with the hammer, now its as bent as a nine bob note :lol::lol::lol::lol:

when will i ever learn, probably best buying a new one now, need to get something else painted anyway, when i bought my new sills i forgot to order the little short bits :oops::oops:

jeeeesu harry H christ...............................you aint no surgeon..............youre the hammer man....

 

  1. hinge now FUBAR
  2. bonnet packing strip is riverted on the rad cover where the bonnet meets it
  3. bonnet lock is meant to be altered...use a screwdriver....undo locknut and screw in....i take it you know how to do that...

 

im having a stress attack here....youve gone all neandertal..........you dont want a 'ammer you want a bleedin' great bone.... :lol:

 

 

 

oh one other thing....you will have to check this out.....but the new landies i had in the early '80's had clip on rubber weather strip on the bonnet sides (similar to what you have on the doors)

i altered the striker thing earlier by undoing the nut and using a screw driver, but didnt really know where it needed to be so i will wait for my mate to look at it, although the bonnet is now on hold till i can get a hinge, they mat have one over the road, will check tomorrow,as for the rubber bonnet strips, cant find anything like that, so thats your job to investigate :good::good:

:lol::lol: iv found the part number now but there described as door hinges, now this one has a photo so its obviously a bonnet one, but they dont have any, and the otheres iv found have no photos, with my lick if i order one it will actually be for a door :lol:
