Dr D
Had a look at a small barley stubble that was cut early in the week but wasn't yet lifted. There wasn't much going on. Half a dozen birds down and a couple of crows. This was about 1.30. I sat and watched for a half hour to see if there was anything close to a line. A few birds came in during that time and a couple left. Since the day was kicking on I decided I would have to make a call. In previous years I have seen a good number birds on this line so I took a punt and set up. 3 dead birds and one on a flapper. Started shooting at about 2.30 and in the next half hour I only had one bird down. About 3 ish it picked up. And from then on generally the birds decoyed well. I stopped at 4.45 and picked 33. Another short session that proved more fruitful than I thought possible. Edited September 27, 2015 by Dr D
