ShootingEgg
Went up to a mates pond today to put some feed down and took the guns. Mate of mine dropped a mallard back into the pond so got the pooch out and gave him his first out in the field retrieve.. The duck had been winged so was diving and giving him the slip, but after 5-10 minutes he caught up and bought him back out to me.. Photo taken back at home. bigbird
Brill well done... But check your county, I'm pretty sure wildfowl shooting on Sundays isn't permitted in some

kent
Shooting fowl is allowed in most places in England and Wales on a Sunday. Notable exceptions exist in areas like West riding and Anglesey but there are others it's rare
kent
It's a nervous time. Dog did well. Don't fret an odd bit of damage early days it can happen

ShootingEgg
Hope my pooch poses as well as that with his first duck. Cheers, Mick He knows when not to touch... Got that in him early... Although tonight he has been holding his rear left up.. Inside pad is swollen... Think he may of caught it on something when in the pond, thick cover around half of it. Hoping nothing major as am well chuffed with him after the retrieve...

WGD
Young dog did very well to pick a diving duck, personally I shoot them again in the water and make life easier for everyone. Nice looking dog, hope he continues to do well for you.

Nice looking dog, hope he continues to do well for you. Was quite interesting watching him get close then confused as the duck disappeared to re appear. But he got there in the end, and this morning is bouncing off the walls as per usual... Think the pad is still swollen but he isnt holding it up now..
