steve_b_wales
While on holidays recently, this little chap frequently came and sat on the floating jetty, to catch himself a fish. I managed to snap him quickly. We saw it many times after that, but I didn't have my camera with me. I had to crop the photo to show the bird. Not the clearest of photo's, but I'm glad I got him. hambone
I have seen more kingfishers this year than I think I've seen yearly before. Hope they are on the up but I might have just been lucky. Nice pic. BTW Edited October 8, 2015 by hambone
steve_b_wales
Nice one Steve. The annoying thing was, we were sitting on the sand one morning, and the bird was sitting on a large rock, no more than 5 yards from us. My camera was in the hotel! steve_b_wales
Great picture Steve If there was more time to take the photo, it would have been sharper. Still glad I got the bird though.
Guest rimotu66
Thanks for sharing, beautiful little birds and have been lucky enough to see that flash of colour a few times, the strangest place I saw one was a small creek running into the Humber near Immingham dock, it just seemed so out of place in such a industrial backdrop. steve0146
There does seem to be loads of them about this year. Duck shooting one evening this week, there were two males and a female fishing and chasing each other. In fact I have just moved house to small lake and see some each morning.
