oozelumbird
Just a quick question to ask what you guys feed your dogs and where you get it, ive got 2 very hungry labs which eat food like horses. Do you stick to branded names such as Iams or Beta or do you have your own mix?. Any help would be great.

Some brands to look at include: Burns Active 24% protien Chudleys working dog Marsdens prestige Pero working dog (active and maintainance) Skinners field and trial CSJ command performance You also won't pay VAT on many of these. Cranfield
I feed my hound on raw breast of lamb, raw chicken wings, other raw meats and the free flow mince and vegetables from these people. http://www.naturesmenu.co.uk/products/frozen/ Apart from being excellent for her, it is also cost effective against the "better" complete foods. I should also mention that as its "natural" food, there is less chance of your dog having any allergy problems, that can occur with "complete" foods. Andy75
Russ - any ideas where I can get these from? Sprocker gets bored of food rather quickly and fancy trying him on some of these instead. Have looked in local countrywide, but not had any luck. ta. To be honest, and it's a predictable answer, feed whatever suits your dog! Cranfield
My hound is 8 months old, weighs almost 5 stone and is in extremely fine fettle. Since she came off puppy complete food at around 3 months old, she has been on the "natural" diet. We have always fed her the recommended weight in natural food, as off the complete food instructions. Currently, she has 250 gms for breakfast, consisting of 100 gms of Natures Menu mince and 150 gms of chicken wings/breast of lamb/chicken legs (all weights approx). She has the same for dinner (around 5pm ish). Occasionally she will have beef rib bones, lamb leg bones, chicken carcases, tripe, giblets and other meats - all raw. We will also give her mashed up cooked vegetable scraps, or blended raw vegetables, they must be "pureed". The same for raw fruit that has been through the blender. Vegetables to avoid are onions and no grapes, raisins or currants. Cooked bones cause problems, not the raw ones. Google up BARF (BonesAndRawFood), there is lots of information, menus, Forums, etc on the Web. I bet I pay less per week to feed my dog, than anyone with a similar sized dog, who buys a quality complete food.

I guess a five stone jack russell could be over doing it a bit

Ferretboy111
Was thinking of feeding my pup when she is older on WAGG working food? We used to feed it to our old springer, what are your views if any? ALEX
