Marki
I appreciate it's not the same model but I have a FZ72 and I would say that the image quality is better than you are achieving. This is in full auto mode. These two are taken from the same position, the second is maximum zoom on the structure just behind the black hilly bit in the center. Maybe the lighting was working against you and forcing a longer exposure?
Marki
At normal range they give good enough images. It's my 'do all' camera now. I've recently bought a x2 teleconvertor that works really well!
suggs
i would watch the ISO at 1600 as i would think you will lose a lot of image quality with that camera at high ISO, but i also expect you had no choice unless the aperture opens wider than f5.7 or you droped the shutter speed any lower. Personally for me anything living or moving even a butterfly on a leaf will move, i want a higher shutter speed, 1/125 is still going to run the risk of a bit of hand shake or movement bluring the images. But for shutter speed you need light and if theres not enough light then the camera will want to open the aperture up to the max and then up the ISO, its all a trade off. Also if shooting something moving you need to have the focus set to servo so it tracks and re-focus if the subject moves, the butterfly looks like you may have missed focus a tad as the leaf to the bottom right is sharper than the butterfly. Goggle depth of field good start though tipot keep practicing Edited October 29, 2015 by suggs
GREENGRASS
Keep shooting Tipot and finding your way around your new camera. You will soon work out what works for you, but also does not. Have fun GG
Marki
FWIW. I do not allow the auto focus to select its target. I fix it to the center. Occasionally this means that I deliberately aim somewhere else when focusing and then return to what I'm after to capture the scene. I'll have to look at my settings, I have a feeling that I turned the noise reduction to a different setting from default.
B25Modelman
First pics are out of focus to my eyes.
hawkfanz
you need to format the card in the camera not the pc,

Marki
FWIW. I use a 32gb HS card without any problems. I'll check when I get home but I'm fairly confident that it is sandisk. I do use any card that is lying around and have never had a problem when they were formatted on a PC. You may need to check what you are formatting them at though. I use good old FAT. Safest way, as already said, is to format them in the camera.
