Albert 888
OK guys and girls, after some serious thinking I'm going to sell my sx3 auto and sighn my 425 to my brother I think. So i need to replace the two guns, but I only want one. Its use will be pheasant syndicate, wildfowling and clay shoots. In that order. I could just get my 425 coated or something to stop any rust and use on the marsh or buy a 525 3" steel proof or miroku equivalent. My other thoughts are buy a browning waterfowl none camo, macnab or somthing else. Any ideas. I'm happy using 70mm 2 3/4" cartridges. But 3" or 3 1/2" steel proof would be ideal. Budget is £1000

Albert 888
Winchester select grey laminate ? Looks good, maybe to good to take on the marsh though. What are they like with mud and salt water.
Will Poon
No idea as mine just sits in the cabinet. Laminate stock, barrels are unusual as in rough powder coated or something.
WinchesterDave
I take my select deluxe field out on marsh and it's done well. I just wrap the receiver in duct tape prior to the trip, but I mainly take my sx3 lol depends if I'm in the mood to spend ages looking to pick carts up
malmick
Remington Versa Max Sportsman new or s/h higher spec one would be within budget.
Big Al
I really like my 525. A true all rounder equally at home on the pheasant shoot, the clay range and has 3 inch steel capacity for wildfowling. If it were me, that is the one. Beware the man with only one gun. I was going to put that quote on my first post. The 525 is looking the best option. I would use my 425 but it's not steel proofed. To be honest I don't need 3&1/2" as I'm a duck man and use 70mm 32g 4's so need for the big ones, but I do like how good my sx3 is at avoiding the dreaded rust. You don't need a steel proofed gun to use steel shells.
Albert 888
I'm quite aware of that thanks,I have put many through my 425. I bought the 425 as my first gun and 15+ anwards the bluing is getting thin, the wood on it is fantastic and just had it redone. I'm after somthing newer that can handle the environment and hp steel if needed, that I can also use on the pheasant shoot. I don't like swapping between guns. I also need the space in the cabinet. I would never sell the 425 hence sighing it over to my brother.
