Paddy Galore!
Hi gents, managed to snap a wheel bolt, to make things worse I also managed to snap an "easy out" bolt remover in there too. I managed to get it all out but the thread ain't right. do you guys reckon it'd be ok to drill and tap this out to 14mm? might have to drill the alloy out a bit too. cheers, paddy. imissalot
Can't you just run the tap through in the correct size instead of making it bigger
ditchman
either that or drill it out and tap it and fit a helicoil..............
Albert 888
You could fit a new second hand hub if practical.

Albert 888
I've done it with a knuckle bar x2 on the same hub. Don't worry about it.
Paddy Galore!
I reckon it'll be a new hub gents, tried running a 12mm tap through it but it's just Jacobs. don't think a helicoil will work as there isn't a lot of material in the hub, just about 10mm. and I've noticed there's a bit of camber on that wheel, noticeably more than the other side so I reckon it's had a knock and needs investigating. there's no speed wobble, the wheel is tight on the hub. my van is a bloody pain in the backside, what with fixing all the bodges the last **** did, and just general maintenance it's turning into a full time hobby. thanks for all the advice guys, much appreciated. atb, paddy

Paddy Galore!
What van is it mk2 caddy, although some think camber on a veedub is cool, just one wheel is not going to cut it on the "scene" lol!
