tullyhubbert
I was giving the dog a run before leaving to go picking up when he cut the underside of his ear (Two slices, barbed wire by the look of it) It bled very badly for half an hour, stopped on the 10 min journey to the estate, but started again as soon we arrived, blood everywhere! The shoot manager is a vet and he stapled the slice that was bleeding, stopped it immediately. He sprayed it with blue and then silver sprays and the dog was able to work all day. As this lab has already had two ear cuts, a badly gashed leg and some boy bit damage in the past I think that some sort of antiseptic spray would be useful to keep in the car. Farmers seem to have a cure all 'Blue' spray, googling seems to suggest a product called 'Leucillin' might be a good buy. Any suggestions that are readily available and work? Thanks. scotslad
there is also a spray 'Terramicin', which i think is similar. My local vet actually sold me some don't think there meant to thou as won't be tested for dogs, never needed to use and a mate borrowed never to be seen again

It's worth asking someone on the farm if they have a part used can they don't mind parting with as it is handy to have on the beaters cart. ben0850
Terramycin is the stuff, it's now called alamycin and is the stuff we use on the sheep when they have an open wound during clipping or mastitis etc
loriusgarrulus
Another good item is Zambuk ointment. We use it on us and the dogs. Heals things up really fast. The original Fisons recipe is now being made by a company called Rose & Co.
