mudpatten
Silosocks. 6 is a good starting number but ultimately, the more the merrier. You might want to consider a decent call, and learning how to use it correctly, to get the best from the least number of decoys. Don`t forget that you can make your own simple decoys. I`ve recently cut a dozen canada silhouettes from old plastic estate agent signs using a pair of kitchen scissors and some spare paint lying about in the workshop. The birds may not want to land amongst them but they will bring them in close enough for a shot.
hatsanmad
Have a look on a evil bay. Seen the foam ones for 30-40 quid deliverd not the best but cheap and that price is for 6. But out of the two you mentioned i personnaly would go for silosocks. I have 58 of them.
motty
I have successfully decoyed geese with Fuds and Sillosocks. They both do the job, if used in the right place.
