Paul T
As per title, I have used a Beretta self-sticky pad on my other guns and having tried my new 20 bore out I have come to the conclusion I may benefit from one on this one too. The instructions say something along the lines of "ensure area is extra clean on oiled finishes". I've given the stock a really good wipe over, but the pad won't stick very well, so I'm guessing it needs more cleaning. Any ideas without damaging the finish - Turps? Vinegar? I should say I've used these pads before and not had a problem, but they weren't on brand new guns. Obviously I don't want to remove every trace of oil with Fullers Earth and leave the stock with no protection. Suggestions appreciated Gents
pigeonblasterian
I use pure acetone if i want to clean something. It does not leave a film like some products that prevent you getting a good adhesion.
welshwarrior
Turps or pure acetone will remove any oil finish from the stock so I would not use either.
