tiercel
Heard about this broadband service last night it might be worth a check out. there are three packages. 1 £15.99 a month x3 faster than a dialup modem. 2 £19.99 a month x5 faster 3 £24.99 a month x10 faster Included in that price is a free modem and set up. Even if you went for the first one it would still beat a dial up modem. By virtue of no 2hr rule, have the phone free and still be 3x faster. The name of the company is tiscali also they have a free phone number 0800 107 9000. It must be worth a free call.
red_stag88
10x, thats very quick, but por quoi? Surely the 3 and 5x is a adiquate (sp???) unless you are one of them hard core gamer types......
rjimmer
I share a broadband connection with the next office. The speed is usually at least 40 times the speed I was getting with a modem. We use Eclipse! http://www.eclipse.net.uk/index.cfm?id=bbprice http://www.nildram.net are supposed to be good!
Crow_Misser
I've heard some bad reports about tiscali I also heard Nildram were one of the top ones. We use Plus.net in the office and have their 2mb ADSL, which I've had no problems with, and their service is fairly good too.

The Sniper
TC, I had heard of Tiscali, and I've seen their adverts on Tv, and was considering it. But I spoke to a mate who had it ,and he can't wait to get rid of it. The connection was very slow, there was hardly any afterservice and he was constantly being cut off. Cranfield
I have friends who dumped Tiscali, but that was some time ago and they may have improved. Freeserve is still one of the most consistent ISP,s around. I have had them for 4 years , Broadband for the last 2, without any problems. A speed of 576.0 Kbps rocks !!! webber
If you have a telephone line that is used for fax transmissions, eg seperate fax number. DONOT have this line converted to ADSL. The adsl will work fine, but drop the connection when the fax either makes or receives a call. I thought that I was saving my firm hundreds of pounds by having the fax lines converted to broadband, therefore not needing new twlephone lines as our system was not compatible. Finished up paying all sort of fees for cancellation, new lines etc. Beware of ZEN, there system is good, not the cheapest, but they are mercyless if you have to cancel, even through no fault of your own. darkassassin
tiscali suck.....trust me if you are in a telewest able area, i strongly reccomend blueyonder, as you can go up to 30x faster now (3MB Connection, ie. 3000K) im with aol broadband as im not in a telewest area, and aol are pretty gud, im on a 1/2MB connection (576k) 3 times faster may beat dial-up, but that doesnt take much, ALSO dont forget you have to be in a broadband enabled area, no small villages or countryside houses will have broadband enabled for a few years yet O yeah...red_stag i am one of those hardcore gamers, roflmao
