Guest
Hi guys I am thinking of making a spotter. How far could you spot rabbits with one of the home made units. Thanks Youngy

mike69
I know this might sound daft but could you use a LSLA7-12(12V 7Ah/20Hr battery for a screen and camera on a nite vision set up Thanks in advance
Marki
No reason why not, it's just the size and weight. I use to use alarm batteries for lamping. I use one of these in 1800mAh. http://elwirecraft.co.uk/el-products/el-accessories/12v-rechargeable-li-ion-battery-1800mah-2800mah-or-5000mah-for-el-driver-led/

But I can't see where you sourced the box. The only ones I can get involve a lot of faffing to attach them and would be immensely thankful if you could PM me your source, please. Lol, their source is me... I thinkered up the idea, made a pattern and get them vac formed in small batches that cannot begin to compare in price to mass produced ones. They are rather more expensive at £24 + £7 RMSD. They are one of a few bespoke items I make to simplify NV rig building. This is my signature on the ####.com forum. My forum name on there - and facebook is 'some bloke' all in lower case text. [/url] Edited March 13, 2016 by Dave-G
Dave-G
For anyone curious about how the monitor forms a lid to my boxes - here is a quick vid - looking at some of my other videos might be an interesting Nv rig build pass time too for some. Marki
No, I get you Dave. This is why I went down the near eye display route. Sure it adds about another £120 to the build but much easier on the eye and no bright face. It is a better option but i've made a screen mount that lets me put the screen in front of the turret. I'll upload the model if anyone wants it? MK2 is on the way with the ball mount built in, just need to refine it and test it out.
evo
the only problem with the above attachment is its very weak and not really strong enough, you would be better using a screen with the thick attachment

I have no idea of your experience with the mount I made but I've not found it to be weak. The screen only weights a few oz.
Marki
Printed the first prototype for my NV. This uses the cheap chinese camera, bigger than the E700 but seems to work fine on the air rifle. There is a battery box left to print and there are a couple of bits I need to change. The clamping to the scope needs improving and I want to look at running the camera wire internally, but it should be useable. Any suggestions for changes or improvements for the next version?
