Hi Underdog I messed up last entry fingers like pigs tits as they say on the fen lol ,I am being cautious as my focus is the 20g and pressures build easily to dangerous levels and I am attached to fingers and like to keep them lol
VULTURE
Hi. Bought several tins a couple of years ago, still have some, can't remember how much I used as not done any shotgun cartridge reloads lately. I some times use some in my .357 cases only 4 grains with a 158g bullet for out door targets. Didn't realise it was that old,l assumed it was made about 5 years ago. Cheers. FatFreddysCat
I used GM3 Special for 12g mag lead loads back in the 80's. I've still got the factory data sheet. No 20g loads for GM3 Special only for GM3. Pic of data sheet below. I've missed the edge of the page in the pic but the bottom 2 loads are 70mm case the rest are 75mm. FatFreddysCat
Found another sheet but still no 20g loads, only 12g.
Tad-blody
cheers dipper black dot replaced gm3 special, it is a bit mad changing a powder without a change of name ,as far as I have deduced gm3 special was the slowest of all the versions ,but how slow is slow ? Black dot GM3 replaced GM3 not GM3 Special. GM3 Special was the slowest though. I have a clipping out of a 1980 Shooting Times which described Special as "rather more progressive than Nobel 82" and added that "There appears to be scope for experiments with Special to produce 20-bore and 16-bore loads for 21/2" guns proofed for under 3 Tons/sq in" I spoke many years ago to the guy that developed the loads that FatFreddysCat has shown above and he told me that he never developed a 20g load for it but felt that it would suit the purpose well. I do have three recipes handwritten in to the notes section of a Shooting Times Shotgun Cartridge Reloading manual for 3/4, 7/8 and 1oz. I've planned to have them tested eventually but I'm using other powders at present that I have verified data for and have not been forced in to doing so. Continental Shooter
second sheet looks more appropriate. On 12g the old recipe i used was 1.55gr x 32gr, beautiful shell! shame they then changed the composition of the powder....
