Davyo
Is £30 per acre about right? About 60 acre is deciduous woodland & the rest is made up of cover crops of about 3 acre in total (maize/sunflower mix) we have been quoted £200 per acre for the cover crops. Grandalf
Does that £200 include the work - Drilling, ploughing, etc, or do you do the work?
Davyo
200 drilled,he was saying between 200to 300 but can't get a straight answer so I said 200,we are talking about a farmer to be honest Edited January 11, 2016 by Davyo
Konnie
Around here the going rate tends to be £200 acre, undrilled, this is grade 1 land, alters around the country.
scolopax
£30 an acre to rent the shooting rights ? top top money if you ask me but I have heard of similar for quality high bird land that was let to commercial shoots
southwest_colonel
£30 /acre is huge money for rent. £200 /acre for cover crops including establishment sounds reasonable though.
Gamefarm
£30 /acre is huge money for rent. HUGE! £4 to £8 per acre for the sole rights on good shooting ground is enough, in my book, depending on other facilities. That said, my Maize costs around £400/acre rent, inputs and farming inclusive. But we do the job to a high standard.
