Had a night out end of last week at a relations farm. Weather being so bad i thought i'd make the most of a dry evening.

Got to farm had a walk about and stopped at gate way with hedge going away from me with a dog leg in it.Called a bit and spotted pair of eyes coming though hedge next door far end of field . He came along hedge by main road then crossed field heading for hedge in front watching with archer. Lost sight of it in dogleg looked other side of hedge no sign. Went a few a post so i could see round hedge monkey was heading back to far hedge. Called but no interested. :unhappy: Then mist set in so off home.

Last night dry so headed up lane 3 mins in truck . Scanned first field down hill to wood nothing. Headed up hill to track called nothing walked to far end of track called spotted a pair of eyes high up on steep bank above where i started down track. Walked up hill a bit to get over hump on bank. Dropped on pod scanned with Archer fox walking ridge, then he started down hill followed him till fence, came under fence about 200y 55Gr to meet him heard the thump. Walked over to pick him up nice dog. Had a quick walk about nothing got back to where i picked up fox spotted pair of eyes on walking hill above end of track 300 + yards back was aching so thought i'd have a pop at it. It was still there but walking slowly up hill ,shouted but not stopping,so gave it a bit of lead could see the mud and grass just in front flying.

Missed would have been a cracking shot,it will b there 1 night again.
