greenshank1
Hi I have just bought my son a second hand, Rota L Sarreza VT as his first shotgun and I was wondering what the best 20g cartridge would be for him to use for ducks on the shore ?. It's 3 inch chambers and marked as KG 330, it has 4 stars on the bottom barrel and 3 marked on the top barrel.
casts_by_fly
An ounce of 4's is a good starting point. If it is bigger ducks then 3's providing they pattern half decent in your gun. Me personally I want the fastest shooting steel I can find. I don't know the current 20 bore range on sale but I'd start by looking at Gambore and then consider Eley Lightning. rick
Doriboy
I'd agree with the above
figgy
Be better off with a 12 bore semi auto for the foreshore with a bigger range of carts. The best 20bore carts are tungsten but very expensive then bismuth and finally steel. What cart laid and shot size is dependant on quarry and ranges of shots. 32g of 1's for geese and 28/30 gram of 3 or 4 shot for ducks
fenboy
Your best bet for steel loads for a 20 is to home load .
