Caravanman
Just out of interest, how many of you use a roof when crow shooting?

Milo
Where possible, which is just about always, I use a net roof for pigeons or crows along the lines of the Batley model. Dead easy to do and I am convinced it makes a difference, especially when birds are under pressure/spooky or there is bright sunshine direct on the hide. bazzab
That's cracking. I've been sat in hide in several occasions and a woody has landed above me in a tree. Try to turn to get it.. and it clocks me and ******* off. Often wondered if they hadn't seen me would they drop into my pattern.
Milo
Having watched many pigeon shooters from afar and later heard their complaints that the pigeons were decoy shy I concluded that the deeks were most often not the problem. The combination of the inadequacy of their hides and their lack of general field craft discipline were all too obvious. Some of the shooters should have been able to work this out for themselves as birds coming from behind decoyed well whilst birds from the front veered off before being in shot.
