the enigma
I'm after some recommendations for scopes that work well with a DIY NV add on. It's going to be used on my hmr, and needs to be able to track reliably. Any suggestions?
figgy
Have a look on the fit nv threads. Cheaper Hawke scopes seemed favoured over more expensive higher mag scopes.

Alpha Mule
I have a Hawke Panorama on one rifle and a Mamba on the other and the Mamba wins, hands down. It cost a bit more, but the difference is substantial.
Zetter
I have a mamba lite and its by far superior to the rest of the stuff I have on this include hawke panorama, Vortex diamondback and a Sabre airgunner. After chatting to a few people on the night vision forums though the gold standard for digital add ons at the moment is the Hawke sidewinders they are even a cut above the MTC Mamba, pity I sold my one before I got the NV . the enigma
Thanks for the replies lads. How reliably do Sidewinders track? If I'm using the hmr during the day and taking longer shots, I like to dial in the drop rather than hold over, so reliability is a must. Zetter
Mine was always good. To be honest they were a top end Hawke scope retailing at about £300 new so you expect them to be good I mean you are not talking S and B optics but its the top end of what could be considered the budget range and most top end optics don't like digital NV as the quality coatings tend to filter out the IR that the NV needs to operate
