Cocking hook

The cocking hook snapped off my 12g medallist yesterday, and I just wondered if anyone had any ideas as to where I could sourse one.

Try Browning...or Fias distributors as they are the same gun (made in Italy by Fias)

Will probably be expensive compared to the guns worth as you will have to replace the whole forend iron

Can you get the broken bit brazed back on ?

Gun is made by Sabatti (FIAS) who still manufacture guns so you could try emailing them if you get stuck. I had trouble getting one last year but finally managed to get one from a gunsmith who just happened to have one in stock.

I have taken the gun along with the broken off part to a gunsmith, so hopefully he can do something with it.

 

I bought the gun new in 1994 for £500 so dont want to spend too much on it.

Range Right are the current Sbati importers so give them a try . The " cocking nib" is usually held in place with a screw or rivet but it will probably need some adjustment to get the lift correct so that it does not over cock or prevent the hammers falling fully .

i had the exact same problem with a 20g, the part is very scarce and you will have to order it from italy, BUT, be prepared for a wait as they only send over to the importer when the shipment reaches 'x' amount, you would be quicker to get one machined.
