jim_mids
Evening All, Quick question - Does anyone decoy both at the same time? I was out today , pigeon decoys set up and a magnet , bouncers etc ... but the only things in the air were crows - managed to bring a couple down , but that was more fluke as they flew over. Wondered if it would be possible to set out two different sets of decoys? Any thoughts? Cheers Jim

dougall
don't often see them on same spots together, except when recently harvested crops....i only use pigeon decoys and most days get a crow/jackdaw or 2...have never had a corvid land in pattern just when odd one floats over. Interestinly PC above says can work though..i've always thought a few crow decoys would put the pigeon off...but I have not tried.Last yr just after harvest(wheat stubble) shot @ 70 jackdaws that were keen at same time as decent pigeon bag, that was without corvid decoys but leaving out the dead birds..did not stop pigeons coming in but interestingly the 2 did not come in at the same time... bakerboy
The Crow is the Pigeons best friend. I often sit some Crow decoys to one side of my pattern.

ollie
I will always put out decoys for both. Main reason is because we have a bigger population of corvids here in Ireland.
