dob
Which gloves are best for use when lamping, I am after a pair that are wind proof to stop my fingers feeling like they are on fire when I am driving in winter with a lamp held out of the drivers window .i think it's the constant wind across the back of my fingers, being a big southern softy I know but would appreciate any suggestions, thanks guy's. hedge
I use a lot of SealSkinz gloves. Depends which ones you go for but most are wind-proof AND waterproof. I actually wear a pair of (mountain bike) cycling gloves as they are waterproof and fleece lined. Use them as my winter dog walking gloves. I can still use a gun when wearing them as well. http://www.sealskinz.com/UK/gloves/all-weather-cycle-gloves-black They have the padded gel palm which are surprisingly good to drive in! There are thinner/lighter gloves as well so depends how warm you want them.

Harry Callahan
Another +1 for Sealskinz. I wear the UltraGrip gloves for work (I'm a shepherd). Keep you warm in all but the worst weather. Pretty thin so dexterity is kept, despite being a wool glove. Can't rate them righly enough!
cromwell7
Might sound daft but if your using a lamp with a big enough handle, why not buy a motorcycle/quad handlebar muff and fit it to the lamp.

fortune
An idea along the quad glove mode. For nothing. get a feed bag and cut / tear a hole in the top corner. stuff the handle through the hole so that the handle is inside. open the hole up so that the body of the clulight is tight in the hole. the glass is on the outside. The back body, switch and handle are inside the bag. Cut the bag so it comes down over your fore arm like a gauntlet. spear a few holes through the bag and put a bit of tie string through to tighten it up a bit. keeps the wind off and some heat from the back of the lamp lamp keeps the temp up in the bag. costs nothing and is easy. you could even run a bit of silage/ gaffer tape around the bag, lamp and hole to seal and tighten it up. if you don't like it what have you lost? A spare feed bag and a bit of tape.

fortune
We have even used feed bags as quad gloves. Just cut to tailor them to fit with silage or gaffer tape to fit and seal. And we have put a paper sack in a plastic feed bag and then they are water proof, wind proof and semi insulated by the paper sack. Simple, cost nothing and if they get lost or damaged it is easy and quick to replace with another feed bag.
fortune
Clulite :, Get one of these beasties, Cheap as chips and you will see charlie three fields away. no more lost out in the plough lines. We've used one for years and the only thing that was replaced was a different switch moved down on the handle and longer heavier cable to go direct from the hilux battery up over the roof into the back body. it is a big lump as can be seen in the pictures. When you light them up with this you can see what it is. Daylight. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/222037458642?limghlpsr=true&hlpv=2&ops=true&viphx=1&hlpht=true&lpid=122&chn=ps&googleloc=9045125&poi=&campaignid=207297426&device=c&adgroupid=13585920426&rlsatarget=pla-146652013506&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0-L&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=122&ff19=0&ul_noapp=true I forgot to say that it has a very tight pencil beam and we made a flair tube for the front about six inches long.
