carl jones
After looking at the forecast for today decided to go around 11am after all the wet stuff had passed. Wind was very strong but didn't put me off as iv had my better days during strong winds. The field I was shooting was drilled barley and hadn't been rolled yet so plenty on top to keep the birds interested on said field. Field was sodden so was a mission to get to my chosen point. My chosen spot was a tree along a hedge line with the wind on my back a place I'd seen the birds the day before. Got the trap set and birds came in steadily but I couldn't shoot for toffee. First box of carts accounted for 3 birds ! My inexperience was showing as I was shooting erratically at the birds after my first shot which meant I was shooting at birds way further than my skill level with the wind on their backs. My luck started to change as I restrained myself from shooting at out of range birds and my ratio changed. Finished the day with a personal best of 44 birds (43 woodies) and 1 crow for 125 carts. I'm over the moon and can't wait to get out again! Carl

pigeon controller
Well done on your PB, I still have to concentrate when shooting when a flock comes in , ones and twos are ok but when you've five or six I concentrate on the first shot to be a kill the second being a bonus but don't rush it . You will improve with practice so keep going out. Again well done.
