buze
Anyone done it? They quote £50 for 100, which is quite expensive, however, it's 5 minutes from my office, so I could even have a round at lunchtime or thereabout -- so it's tempting ;-) Is that price the net price? I heard they do corkage if you bring your own cartridges...?!?!
bakerboy
No Corkage, my error on the past thread.
buze
Excellent! Well if we have a clear day next week, I'm very likely to have a go!
Sian
They've got their monthly registered this Thursday coming - last card 2pm less than £

As Sian said they have a registered this Thursday for £39.50 or from tomorrow their late night shooting starts. Every Wednesday from 3 they have skeet and sportrap for £7 for 25 targets and Thursday's from 3 they have English Sporting at £17.00. Ah interesting, so how do I do that. just show up with my gun and pay up at 3pm or do I have to book myself? Is that £17 for 50 targets? ALMOST cheap ;-)
Sian
No booking in for any of that. Pay and go do. They are a fibre ground but for registered shoots you can use plastic.
Sian
We are now open every Wednesday and Thursday until 8pm! We couldn't think of a better way to end the day and make the most of the lighter evenings! Join us for some shooting practice and catch up with friends over a beer afterwards! Wednesdays: shoot Skeet and Compak layouts - £7 per round of 25 birds Thursdays: shoot a 50 English Sporting course - £17 per round (£14.50 for members) Layouts are open from 3pm with shooting to finish at 8pm. No booking is required, just turn up and shoot! I copied that from their email I got today.
buze
Turns out that Emmet&Stone were kind enough to lend me a gun for tomorrow, so I'm going to EJC around 3pm -- anyone else? I've been eying a nice Browning 525 Hunter Light Elite they have in stock, so I'll be shooting that and see how it goes!
Lord Flashheart
Good blokes at Emmett & Stone. I'd come along with you, but am already committed to family stuff.

Yes they are excellent - I'm trying to source pretty much everything I buy from them; their price is often very competitive anyway, and they deserve the business... buze
Well, I'm hooked! 10 minutes from the office, there's nobody around 15:30, I met 2 other guys and had a nice time. Definitely adding this to my weekly schedule for the season! Little gun did pretty well, even if I think it was choked very open, so the only target I failed at was the single long crosser. Gun is too short for me, but that might still work with a Neoprene add-on at the back. It's definitely a bit lively with the 27g Super Fast, but I still did 8/10/8/9/4. buze
So, anyone up for it this week?
Lord Flashheart
Not this week as I've been loading for them on the estate for a couple of charity shoots, but sometime next week could be a laugh!
buze
Well I went there the last 2 days (!) -- Wednesday I did some multi-trap thing, which was fun, and a round of Skeet for a laugh (first time -- using a trap gun Full+Extra Full -- I think I did a measy 15!). It turn out that £7 per round of 25 is the best value tickets there, definitely fun! Then yesterday I did the 'sporting' 50 -- I was pretty average but the targets were fun. I definitely like these 'evening shoots'! Thanks @sian for mentioning it.
MonkeyKong
I don't know how, but am only now finding out about this place. Sounds good and it's only a few minutes from my work. Thanks for the heads up!
Dunkield
They do 100 sporting the first Thursday of the month throughout summer. Even they are registered you can shoot birds only. If we can, we get along and shoot those, for Churchill's and most other places these days they are excellent value.
Lord Flashheart
It's arguably one of the top clay grounds in the UK. Owned by Sir Edward Dashwood of the West Wycombe Estate who offers pheasant and partridge days on the estate, and access to global shooting via the EJ Churchill sporting agency. Great bunch of folks, and a nice relaxed atmosphere.

Birds only is great for me and later openings are perfect with it being down the road! It's arguably one of the top clay grounds in the UK. Dunkield
They have a gun room full of guns, but you may want to give them a call them about the rest.
